SML POLICIES
The following are basic policies and guidelines for using the facilities, equipment, and materials of the Student Multimedia Lab.
Sign-in / Sign-Out Policy:
An ACCD student identification card is required. If you do not have a current student ID you must have a current photo ID and a current paid tuition bill.
Each student must log in and out using the lab's sign - in computer.
Use of the lab's equipment is restricted to academic-related projects.
General Rules of Conduct:
No food or drinks are allowed in the lab at any time.
All cell phones must be turned off or silenced while in the lab. (Talking on cell phones while in the lab is prohibited)
No children are allowed in the lab at anytime.
Do not restart or shut down the lab equipment.
Internet social sites such as Myspace, Facebook, etc. are strictly prohibited.
Internet chat lines, email, on-line shopping, and games are restricted.
External hardware cannot be used (except an external hard drive).
Do not change or alter lab computer settings or defaults.
Do not use more than one workstation at a time.
Printing Guidelines:
There is no free printing - students are responsible for all print-outs.
All printing is restricted to academic-related projects.
Students are encouraged to view a Print Preview before printing.
Students are encouraged to ask for assistance before printing to ensure print jobs are set up correctly and sent to the appropriate printer.
The printers use only available paper stock and cannot be loaded with any types of special paper.
Notify the lab personnel if the printer is out of paper. Do not attempt to reload paper.
If there is a paper jam, roller damage to the image area of your print, or other mechanical problems, notify the lab personnel.
FALL and SPRING SEMESTER HOURS OF OPERATION:
Monday - Thursday: 7:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Friday: 7:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Saturday and Sunday: Closed
