*Guitar students at San Antonio College will be classified according to the following:
Class Guitar
Guitar I (MUSI 1192) :
1. Little or no experience reading standard musical notation.
2. Little or no training in classical guitar technique.
(Do you know what a "rest stroke" is? When is a "free stroke" used?)
3. Can you read/play exercises in the textbook (Introduction to Classical Guitar - SAC Bookstore) to page 47?Guitar II (MUSI 1193) :
1. Ability to read musical notation in the first position (Introduction to Classical Guitar (to p.47).
2. Basic knowledge of chords (7 primary chords in keys of C and G)
3. A good foundation in classical technique for right and left hand.Private Guitar
Students wanting to study in Private Lessons must audition in person and be approved by the instructor.

Advanced classical guitar students, with "good to excellent" reading skills and technique are invited to audition for the College Guitar Ensemble.
