 Welcome to Music Appreciation (Musi 1306). Don't worry; there are no prerequisites for this course and no previous musical training is required.

This course is taught entirely on the internet
.

  • To enroll in this section, you MUST have HIGH SPEED INTERNET SERVICE. This course was designed to be accessed using INTERNET EXPLORER as your browser. The use of any other browser (FIREFOX, NETSCAPE. etc.) could cause you to experinece unwanted technical problems.

  • If you are using a PC you will be required to have Windows Media Player as your DEFAULT PLAYER and working speakers or headphones. If you do not, you will NOT be able to hear the musical examples on the EXAMS. You must have Windows Media Player or the listening examples will not play on your computer.

    *Note: If you are using a MAC then you ar required to have any media player that can read regular MP3 files
    and working speakers or headphones.

  • This is NOT a "self-paced" course. This course follows a very specific course CALENDAR. Essays must be submitted on or before the due date posted on the COURSE CALENDAR.
    You MUST be available to sit down at your computer & log-in to the course on specific dates in order to take the EXAMS.


    ( If you CANNOT do this on the dates given below then you SHOULD WITHDRAW FROM THIS COURSE IMMEDIATELY ).

  • A textbook & 5 CD set are required for this course. IF you cannot afford to purchase these materials do NOT enroll in this course.

  • Neither the textbook nor any other notes may be used while taking ANY of the EXAMS or QUIZZES. These are NOT "open book" tests. However, the assignments are designed to be used with the textbook.

Exam I ( Units I & II ): Wednesday-Thursday, September 9-10

Exam II ( Unit III ): Wednesday-Thursday, September 30-October 1

Exam III ( Unit IV ) : Wednesday-Thursday October 21-22

Exam IV ( Unit V ) : Wednesday-Thursday, November 11-12

Exam V ( Unit VI / FINAL EXAM ) : Monday, December 7
