Course
Description (3-3-0)
This
course explores the application of advanced concepts and
skills for the development of the professional nurse's roles
in complex nursing situations with adult clients/families
with complex health needs involving multiple body systems
in intermediate and critical care settings. Emphasis will
focus on the knowledge, judgment, skills, and professional
values of nursing within a legal/ethical framework.

Learning
Outcomes
Utilize
critical thinking skills and a systematic problem-solving
process as a framework for providing care for adult clients
with complex health care needs involving multiple body systems
in intermediate and critical care settings; and analyze
the roles of the professional nurse in the provision of
care for adult clients and families.
These
outcomes can be achieved by the student demonstrating a
final course average of 70% on the written components of
the course: exams, quizzes and a final exam.
