Students
will take the Exit Exam in the final term of study in which the
student completes the degree plan.
- If
a passing score is not obtained on the exam, the student is required to
meet with his/her faculty advisor to interpret the exam results, develop a plan for remediation,
and complete a formal NCLEX review prior to retesting.
- If
the student scores less than 850 on the exam on the second attempt, the student must complete all 50 Elsevier case studies with a score of 80%.
The
student's licensure application will not be approved or certified
by the Department Chair unless the exam criteria is met.
- The
student is not eligible for graduation and the Department Chair
will not certify the licensure application until successful completion of the requirements for the exit
exam. However, the student may participate in pinning ceremony
upon completion of all nursing courses.
- The
cost of retesting, remediation, review courses and other expenses
are the sole responsibility of the student.
- Once
the student meets the exit exam criteria, the student's licensure application
can be submitted upon recommendation of the Department Chair.
