Personal Business

In our technological-based society, it is noted that some students are frequent users of pagers, cellular phones and fax machines.

The department has adopted the following policy:

• The following activities relating to conducting PERSONAL business during class or clinical hours are prohibited:

• Using the facilities’ fax/phone.
• Using personal pagers/cellular phones.
• The student may not have visitors.

• Cell phones and pagers are to be OFF during class / clinical.

Emergency messages may be received through the instructor [while in clinical].

San Antonio College has established a policy related to use of cell phones/pagers in class.

Some hospitals have posted policies related to violators of use of cell phones within the unit.

Simple calculators are to be used when taking Math Proficiency exams--No PDAs or Cell phones.
