Students who have an interruption in the normal progression of nursing courses may apply for readmission.  An interruption is defined as an inability to achieve a passing grade, withdrawal, drop, or non-enrollment.

Any student who has an interruption in normal progression of nursing courses must apply for readmission and be readmitted to the Nursing Program before registering for any nursing course.  To be considered for readmission, the student must submit a packet with a current SAC transcript and a completed application form by the posted deadline.  An application for Readmission is available in NEB 103.  The Admissions Committee will consider complete applications only.

Qualified applicants will be readmitted to the appropriate nursing course on a space available basis according to these criteria:

  • A cumulative GPA of 2.0 or greater in all San Antonio College work and meet academic standards of the college.
  • Not on Scholastic Probation.
  • No nursing course more than 5 years old at time of projected graduation.
  • No action pending for dismissal.
  • No more than ten (10) nursing course credit hours of interruption.
These interruption hours are computed as:
    • “W” counts one-half (½) of course hours.
    • “D” or “F” counts full value of course hours.
    • These interruptions are limited to:
      • No more than two (2) “W”s in that course.
      • No more than one failure (D or F) in that course.

NOTE:

The student who applies for readmission is responsible for calling the department to determine the findings of the Admissions committee.
