She has worked as a medical surgical nurse and psychiatric/substance abuse nurse in Buffalo, NY and Richmond, VA. She has been an assistant administrator / director of nursing at a psychiatric inpatient hospital in Fort Walton Beach, Fl. She has worked for the University Health System in San Antonio, Texas for 12 years as an educator in the department of continuing education for the UHS system.

She has served as an adjunct faculty to SAC school of nursing since Fall 2002 and to the UT Health Science Center School of Nursing since Spring 2003.
