This
clinical provides a health related work-based learning experience
that enables the student to apply speicialized occupational
theory, skills and concepts related to the nursing care of clients
with advanced medical-surgical health care needs across the
adult life span. Direct supervision is provided by the clinical
professional in a clinical setting. |

| Learning
Outcomes |
The
student will identify life-threatening changes which may be
experienced by the client in an acute care setting; utilize
critical thinking and a systematic problem solving process
as a framework for providing care for the critically ill client;
and explain the roles of the associate degree nursing in caring
for these clients and their families.
These
outcomes can be demonstrated by achieving a final course grade
of C on the graded components of the course: clinical performance
indicators and completion of one case study. The student must
demonstrate titration math proficiency and selectd clinical
skills competencies.
