Why Did You Consider SAC Online?

I am a current SAC student and need the flexibility to continue my education while traveling in Romania this summer. I have committed three months to a volunteer organization called Projects Abroad. I will be working two days a week with the hospital staff in the Nursery and two days a week teaching dance to the community and one day a week off to work on my studies.

What motivated you to do this volunteer work?

It started with a volunteer fair held here at SAC. I have done a lot volunteer work before but wanted something out of the ordinary and out of my comfort zone. I read in the local newspaper about a girl doing some volunteer work overseas. I went on the internet and applied for several organizations and Projects Abroad was the first organization to accept me as a volunteer. I got the letter requesting me to join them. I taught English for 6 weeks in an orphanage and 3 weeks in a village called Halchui in the town Brasov, Romania the Summer 2007.

What Are Some of Your Career Plans?

I am currently a SAC Online student, and I plan to obtain a Bachelors degree in Nursing at UT Health Science Center, and I hope to practice as a registered nurse. Upon obtaining a Bachelor's Degree, I plan to continue school and obtain a Masters Degree and become a Nurse Practioner.
