Today San Antonio College and Texas State
University-San Marcos officials announced an articulation agreement
to help facilitate the transfer of students with Arts & Sciences
majors. The pact amends and updates an agreement signed between
the two institutions in 1994.
" We are excited about this renewed partnership, which will make it easier
for San Antonio College students to continue their studies at Texas State and
earn their bachelor's degree," said Dr. Robert E. Zeigler, President
of San Antonio College.
" For the sake of the future economy of the state, as well as for the quality
of life of our citizens, we need to encourage as many Texans as possible to get
bachelor's degrees," said Dr. Denise M. Trauth, President of Texas State. "Our
goal with these transfer guides is to smooth the transition from two-year
college to four-year college to help students earn those degrees."
To provide students with a smooth transition from San Antonio
College to Texas State, the Texas State College of Liberal Arts
and the
SAC Division of Arts & Sciences
have established 34 Transfer Planning Guides.
These guides will assist students working toward Bachelor's degrees in such fields
as Anthropology, English, Geography, History, International Studies, Modern Languages,
Philosophy, Political Science, Psychology, Sociology, Accounting, Computer Information
Systems, Economics, Finance, Management, Marketing, and Applied Arts and Sciences.
