Alumni, students and friends of the San Antonio College Mortuary Science Program are invited to attend A Night in New Orleans Banquet and Award Ceremony on Tuesday, February 8, 2005, 7-10 p.m. at San Antonio College in the Koehler Cultural Center, 310 W. Ashby Place.

" Alumni not able to attend are encouraged to fax or email greetings or an anecdote about their memories of the Mortuary Science Department," said Felix Gonzales, Assistant Professor.

According to Gonzales, the award ceremony will honor Mr. Nelson Scheler, Vice President/Operations Manager of Porter Loring Mortuaries, who was a member of the program's first graduating class in 1963.

The mortuary science fraternity Rho Sigma Gamma is sponsoring the event, and proceeds from ticket sales will benefit the Mortuary Science Department Scholarship Fund. Tickets are $20 per person in advance or $30 at the door.
