WHAT:
Scobee Planetarium staff and members of the San Antonio Astronomical Association will host a special star party event with a variety of telescopes to enable public viewing of the planet Saturn.
The observing event is presented FREE of charge and open to all ages.
WHEN:
Saturday, February 19
7p.m. 10 p.m., weather permitting.
IMPORTANT: Observing will take place outside, and the Planetarium will be closed that night. If the weather is cloudy or rainy, the event will be cancelled. Call the Scobee Planetarium at 733-2910 to confirm.
WHERE:
San Antonio College
1300 San Pedro, San Antonio, Texas 78212 Parking lot 21, adjacent to the Scobee Planetarium and Observatory (enter from West Park, just off San Pedro)
WHY:
Shining below the Moon that night, Saturn is closer to Earth than it has been in more than a year. Through telescopes, viewers will be able to see Saturn¹s rings and other astronomical objects.
