a mission to bring together high school young women and men (11th
and 12th grades) for a day of information focusing on self-esteem
and leadership development in order to expose them to enhanced
career and educational options. The conference also presents
positive role models to offer messages on the importance of higher
education.
The high school with the most students at the conference will
be awarded a trophy and that school's counselor will receive
a prize and the school will be awarded the Conference Spirit
Trophy for exhibit in the school's display case for one year.
More than 500 students and their parents and counselors from
40 San Antonio and surrounding area high schools and community
agencies attended last year's conference. Eighty percent of the
seniors who attended the conference were enrolled in an ACCD
college by Fall 2004.
