SAC Commencement Is Set for May 6

San Antonio College will hold its 78th Annual Commencement Exercise on Saturday, May 6, at 10 a.m. in the Freeman Coliseum.  Dr. Robert E. Zeigler, President, will preside.
        Approximately 1,000 students will graduate from San Antonio College, which offers Associate's Degrees in the Arts and Sciences, and Applied Sciences, as well as scores of certificates.
        Speakers will include Dr. William Breit, Professor Emeritus of Trinity University and San Antonio College's Outstanding Former Student for 2005-2006.  Breit graduated in 1951 from San Antonio College, where economics Professor Truett Chance inspired him to continue his studies in that field.  He won the Phi Beta Kappa Book Prize for "The Antitrust Penalties," is co-author of a mystery series featuring an economist sleuth, and at Trinity University created a series of lectures by Nobel Laureates in economics. 
      In addition, Alexandria C. Sanchez will speak on behalf of the student body.  She served as Leadership Officer of the Beta Nu Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa student honors society and also serves on the Institutional Effectiveness Steering Committee.  After graduating with an Associate of Arts Degree in Speech Communication, she will attend the University of Texas at San Antonio where she will pursue a Master's Degree in Speech Communication.
