The San Antonio College Mortuary Science Department will offer weekend classes in the Spring 2007 Semester, according to Mary Mena, department chair.
"By offering classes on weekends, we make it a lot more convenient for students to earn a certificate or an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree in Mortuary Science while they work during the week," said Mena.
She said another convenience factor is that most of the core courses, such as English and Psychology, are available on the Internet or may be transferred from other colleges.
Mortuary Science weekend classes will be available on Saturdays and Sundays, 8 a.m. -5 p.m. The subjects offered in the fall will include History of Mortuary Science, Funeral Service Clinical Orientation, Mortuary Management I, and Contemporary Funeral Service Practices.
Current students may register online (http://www.accd.edu) beginning Nov. 13, and new students can register online beginning Nov. 15.
