“Pain of the Macho” (performed in English) is part of TeatroFEST 2006, the city-wide festival founded by the Guadalupe Cultural Arts Center to celebrate the Latino voice in American theater. Written by Najera, the play is a wise and funny, yet sometimes stinging, satire of the Latin man.  There is humor and hope beneath the façade of the macho, and Najera captures the nobility, honesty, and ultimately, the pain of the macho.

Rick Najera is an award-winning director, producer, writer and actor whose writing credits include hit comedy shows such as MAD TV and In Living Color, and just recently, the writing and directing of CBS’s First Annual Multicultural Sketch Comedy Showcase.

The SAC acting company includes SAC Theatre students: T.J. Cantwell, Yinelly Arnold, Angela Ivette-Peña, Leonel Martel, Jaime Gonzalez, Osvaldo Delgado and Benito Lara.
