San Antonio College English Professor Dr. Irma Ned Bailey has received a Fulbright Scholar grant to lecture at the University of Salerno in Italy during the 2007 spring semester, according to the U. S. Department of State and the J. William Fulbright Foreign Scholarship Board.
Dr. Bailey will teach a course in American and British Romanticism in the Nineteenth Century. She is one of approximately 800 U. S. faculty and professionals who will travel abroad through the Fulbright Scholar Program, which was established in 1946 to build mutual understanding between the people of the United States and the rest of the world.The U. S. Department of State, Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, sponsors the Fulbright Program, which has exchanged approximately 273,500 people - 102,900 Americans who have studied, taught or researched abroad and 170,600 students, scholars and teachers from other countries engaging in similar activities in the
