At the 88th International Convention of the Phi Theta Kappa International Honors Society in Seattle, Wash., April 20-22, the San Antonio College student Beta Nu Chapter was selected as a "Distinguished Chapter" - defined as one of the Top 25 chapters in the world, out of the 585 competing two-year college chapters.
In addition, the Beta Nu Chapter received the Leadership Hallmark Award for the Top 20 schools that illustrate outstanding campus and community leadership, as well as the Service Hallmark Award for the Top 20 schools illustrating outstanding campus and community service.
Chapter President Pedro Ledezma received the Distinguished Chapter President award for his outstanding leadership and service to the campus and community throughout the year.
Last March, the SAC Beta Nu Chapter also was honored as a Texas Top Chapter and received the highest ranking of "Five Star Status," among other recognitions.
