Today, officials from San Antonio College and Schreiner University signed a transfer agreement (also known as a "2+2" agreement) to facilitate the transfer of SAC students to continue their studies at Schreiner, a liberal arts institution in Kerrville with an enrollment of more than 800 students.
"We are very excited about this partnership, which will give SAC students more opportunities to continue their higher education. We will encourage our students to consider transferring to Schreiner, which is an outstanding institution and a valuable partner," said Dr. Robert E Zeigler, president of San Antonio College.
"The completion of our articulation agreement with San Antonio College is an important milestone. Financial and family circumstances often dictate that the community college is the right way for many students to begin their college education. It is a pleasure to conclude an agreement with a fine institution like SAC that will permit a seamless transfer to Schreiner for those students seeking a baccalaureate degree. Traditionally, a number of our strongest graduates have been transfer students, and this pact will ensure a continuing flow of such students in the future," said Dr. Tim Summerlin, president of Schreiner University.
As part of the transfer agreement, Schreiner will offer students an evaluation of their previous studies and advising for satisfactory academic progress. Transfer students should be in good academic standing at San Antonio College and have an overall 2.0 grade point average in all course work. Official transcripts of all college work should be submitted by application deadlines as published in the University catalog.
Transfer students may be granted admission for fall or spring semesters or for the summer term. Students should follow the prescribed core requirements for one of these degree programs: Bachelor of Arts (BA), Bachelor of Science, (BS) or Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA).
BA programs of study include biochemistry, biology, business administration, chemistry, creative arts, English, exercise science, general studies, graphic design, history, humanities, mathematics, music, political science, psychology, religion and theatre.
BS programs include biochemistry, biology, chemistry, exercise science, and mathematics. BBA programs include accounting, information systems, management, marketing, finance, and international business.
