| WHAT Project ReConnect: Community Education Fair and Flu Immunization Clinic Presented by San Antonio College, Palo Alto College, San Antonio Metropolitan Health District, Wellmed Charitable Foundation and Texas State Senator Leticia Van de Putte, R. Ph. WHEN Saturday, October 27, 2007 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. WHERE San Antonio College - 1300 San Pedro Ave., San Antonio, TX 78212 (Enter parking lot #21 from W. Park Ave., near SAC Tennis Courts) Activities at SAC’s Candler Physical Education Center and Seguir Adelante Community Center. COST Event is free and open to the public. Flu vaccines will be provided free of charge (available while supplies last, for persons age 6 months and older) by San Antonio Metropolitan Health District and the Wellmed Charitable Foundation. Children with Medicaid or CHIP must present their coverage information. This year, pneumonia vaccines will be given out only at Metro Health's permanent clinic locations. EVENT CONTACT: (210) 785-6327 ADDITIONAL DETAILS SAC’s Gateway to College® staff will provide information and answer questions about the program that offers young adults ages 16 to 20 who have disconnected from school a chance to reconnect and receive a high school diploma while simultaneously earning college credits. The Seguir Adelante Community Center will be open for tours, offer guests access to a free computerized scholarship search, and provide information about Money Management and Home-Buyer Programs. (Habla español.) Additionally, student support professionals from SAC, Palo Alto College and the other Alamo Community Colleges will be available to discuss college enrollment, financial aid opportunities and various educational programs. Local schools will provide free entertainment including live music, drill team dancing and sports team mascots, and SAC student groups will sell food to raise money for scholarships. |
