Five students in San Antonio College's Dental Assisting and Engineering Technologies programs took top awards in the 35th Annual Skills USA College/Postsecondary Division State Leadership Conference competition, held in San Antonio on March 22-24.  These students qualify to compete in the National Skills USA competition to be held in Kansas City June 26-29.  

       

In the Dental Assisting competition, Tricia Chapa took First Place in the Skills competition and Third Place in the Written Test competition; Leah Sevilla took Second Place in Technical Skills and Second Place in Written Test; Kelli DeGrassi took Third Place in Technical Skills and First Place in the Written Test.
    

In the Engineering Technologies competition, Electronics Technology student Ryan Gernsbacher took two First Place medals, in the Written Test and in Technical Skills; and Engineering Technologies student Vincent Arispe took Third Place in Technical Drafting competition.  In addition, G. Richard Morgan and Joshua D. J. Friedman ranked among the top 10 in Technical Drafting in Texas.
