Tuesday, Feb. 5, 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. "A Taste of New Orleans," a Fat Tuesda y Celebration, with music, food and party favors, Loftin Student Center Round.
Thursday, Feb. 7 Friday, Feb. 8, 1:30 4:30 p.m. Talent Show Tryouts.
All students are invited to try out for scholarships for the top three winners, Loftin Student Center Round.

7 p.m. Gospel Concert, featuring Gary Thompson and DeWayne Woods and his band. Woods is a representative of World Vision: Building a Better World for Children. The concert will be in McAllister Auditorium (corner of San Pedro and Courtland Pl.).

Tuesday, Feb. 19, 9:25 a.m.-10:40 a.m. "Aaron Douglas: African American Modernist ", a talk by Associate Professor Marleen Hoover, Visual Arts & Technology. The artist Aaron Douglas, who was part of the Harlem Renaissance movement, is credited with having developed an abstracted narrative style that is consistent with early 20th Century modernism in art and appropriate for bridging African and American styles and themes.
(Hoover has given previous talks for Black History Month on African Masks, the Art of the Harlem Renaissance, and on Jacob Lawrence.) The talk will be held in the Visual Arts & Technology Center (VATC), Room 120.
Wednesday, Feb. 20, 11 a.m. 1 p.m. Talent Show. Talented students will compete for $1,000 in scholarships,
Loftin Student Center Round.
Thursday, Feb. 21 Patróns Motorcycle Club will display their apparel and motorcycles and be available for questions, in the Loftin Student Center mall and lawn area.
