Chrystal D. Alexander, who recently graduated from San Antonio College, has been named to the 2008 All-Texas Academic Team. Alexander was also nominated to the USA Today All-American Academic Team.
Alexander served as treasurer of Phi Theta Kappa Honors Society. She is now a student at Incarnate Word University, where she is majoring in economics with a minor in psychology. Her goal is to become a U.S. senator.
According to the Phi Theta Kappa website, “Phi Theta Kappa, two-year college presidents, and community college state associations co-sponsor All-State Academic Team recognition programs in 32 states. All-State recognition programs are most often held in the state capital with legislators, education leaders, and corporate leaders attending. All-State Team members receive special recognition including medallions, certificates, and oftentimes stipends and scholarships.”
Each two-year college in Texas may nominate two students per campus to the All-USA Academic Team. Students from Texas nominated to the national team comprise the All-Texas Academic Team. Nominations are based on outstanding academic performance and service to the college and community.
