Texas Filmmakers’ Production Fund 2008

| WHAT 2008 Texas Filmmakers’ Production Fund (TFPF) informational workshop presented by the Austin Film Society (AFS) in partnership with SAC Radio-TV-Film department. Free and open to the public – no registration necessary. WHEN Friday, April 18 3 - 4:30 p.m. WHERE San Antonio College - 1300 San Pedro Ave., 78212 Longwith Radio, Television and Film Building, Room 101 (building is located on W. Courtland Pl at N. Main Ave.) Participants may park at the LRTF building and at the Visual Arts & Technology Center across the street. (NO parking at Travis Elementary). WHO AFS Director of Artist Services Bryan Poyser will provide information about applying to the Production Fund and screen work samples from previously funded work. San Antonio filmmaker Ray Santisteban, a 1999 TFPF recipient for his film “I am Joaquin,” will take potential applicants through the process step by step. ADDITIONAL DETAILS Filmmakers from across the state of Texas are eligible to apply to TFPF. Applications are due June 2, 2008. Application forms are available at www.austinfilm.org or by request from: Texas Filmmakers’ Production Fund, call (512) 322-0145; email tfpf@austinfilm.org or by postal mail to 1901 East 51st Street, Austin, TX 78723. In September, a panel of nationally recognized film professionals will award at least $100,000 in grants ranging from $1,000 to $25,000 in cash, to the selected filmmakers. Over the past eleven years, TFPF has given out $870,000 in cash, goods and services to 243 film and video projects over the last eleven years. Recipients have shown their films at festivals like Sundance, Cannes and Toronto, and have won Independent Spirit Awards. |
