Students of Iranian descent who are attending one of the Alamo Community Colleges may qualify for a scholarship for the Fall 2008 and Spring 2009 semesters.  The deadline for applications is Feb. 1.

      The Society of Iranian American Women for Education (SIAWE) has donated $15,000 for this scholarship fund, which recipients may apply toward tuition, fees and books.  The scholarships may vary in amounts but will not exceed $2,500.

      SIAWE is a non-profit charitable organization with no religious preferences or political affiliations and has made the growth and advancement of Iranian students as one of its major goals.  More information about the organization is available at www.siawe.org.
