Five students in San Antonio College’s Dental Assisting and Engineering Technologies programs took top awards in the 36th Annual Skills USA College/Postsecondary Division State Leadership Conference competition, held in San Antonio on March 27-29.
In the Dental Assisting competition, Cynthia Waits took First Place (Gold Medal) in Technical Skills and Third Place in the Written Test, Natasha Krautheim took Second Place (Silver Medal) in Technical Skills and Second Place in the Written Test, Anna Valdivieso took Third Place in Technical Skills and First Place in the Written Test.
In the Electronics Engineering Technologies competition, Ryan Gernsbacher for the second consecutive year took First Place (Gold Medals) in both the Written Test and in Technical Skills; and Electronics Engineering Technologies student Kaysone Luangkhoth took Second Place (Silver Medals) in both the Written Test and in Technical Skills.
Both Waits and Gernsbacher will go on compete in the National Skills USA competition to be held in Kansas City
June 23-27.
