SAC Partners with Institute of Internal Auditors
To Offer Certified Internal Auditor Training

SAN ANTONIO, TX (June 10, 2009) – San Antonio College is partnering with the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) to meet the growing demand for Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) training.   SAC will be offering comprehensive instructor-led CIA preparation courses based on the IIA’s CIA Learning System.

“We are proud to be joining forces with the IIA to serve the needs of internal auditors and employers in our region,” said Director Joanna B. Grogan,   SAC  Center for Professional Development. “Internal auditors play an important role in today’s business environment and the need for certification has never been greater. By offering the IIA’s CIA Learning System courses, we are making top quality internal audit training easily accessible to our local community.”

Four courses offered at SAC this fall are: the Internal Audit Activity’s Role in Governance, Risk and Control; Conducting the Internal Audit Engagement; Business Analysis and Information Technology; and Business Management Skills.

The CIA designation is the only globally accepted certification for internal auditors and is the standard by which individuals demonstrate their competency and professionalism in the internal auditing field. This interactive print and Web-based program, included in course fees, teaches and reinforces the entire global CIA syllabus. By combining these materials with the expertise of an experienced instructor at SAC, participants will master the CIA materials in an environment that encourages instructor and peer interaction.
