SAN ANTONIO, TX (Oct. 2) – The San Antonio College Women’s Center is accepting applications for childcare scholarships for the Fall 2009 Semester. The maximum award is $1,200.
The student must meet the following requirements:
• Be enrolled in a Professional and Technical Degree Program at SAC.
• Be a single parent.
• Demonstrate financial need (Pell Grant, Lone Star Card, WIC, etc.)
• Be in good academic standing (overall GPA 2.0 minimum).
• Maintain enrollment of at least 9 credit hours for Fall and Spring (Flex 6 credit hours).
• Commit to attend monthly parenting workshops.
• Participate in a minimum of one community/department event per semester.
Eligible students may pick up applications at the Empowerment Center, at the corner of Evergreen and Howard Street.
The Department of Programs & Services for Women & Non-Traditional Students is now located at the new Empowerment Center, which houses the Women’s Center, Mi Casa and Seguir Adelante programs.
