San Antonio Teachers Attend
College Readiness Writing Workshop at SAC

  SAN ANTONIO, TX (July 27) – Teachers from area school districts gather for the final day of a weeklong writing workshop, “Crossing to College: What is College Readiness in Writing? And How Do We Get There?”

Margaret Anderson, executive director of the Bexar County P-16 Council, addressed the group of 17 teachers on July 24. The workshop was aimed at middle and high school teachers to learn more about the new Texas College Readiness Standards, the practice of teaching writing, and how to prepare their students for college writing.

The workshop was led by Lennie Irvin. Other SAC administrators and instructors who spoke during the workshop included Alex Bernal, English Department; Dr. Jim Lucchelli, Counseling and Student Development; Adolph Lopez, Director SAC Assessment Center; Laurie Coleman, English; Dr. Jonathan Lee, History; and Dr. Pam Hill, Psychology. Mike Moran from St. Philips and Ellen Shull from Palo Alto College were also guest presenters.
