SAN ANTONIO, TX (Oct. 16) – San Antonio College was recognized by the Center for Digital Education at the Oct. 11-12 League for Innovation Conference on Information Technology (CIT 2009) in Detroit, Mich.
SAC placed in the Top 10 community colleges in the United States for delivering a high level of services to students and faculty. An awards ceremony recognized the community college winners, and a conference session was held to provide an opportunity for the winning colleges to share best practices with conference attendees.
“As Director of SAC Online, I am very proud of our college’s recognition at the national level,” said Helen Torres. “This recognition would not be possible without our faculty who excel in teaching and learning; without every department at SAC that supports the SAC Online Program.”
Torres also praised SAC President, Dr. Robert Zeigler for his vision in 1996 to support online instruction at the inception of this program.
This was the fifth annual Digital Community Colleges Survey, which recognizes community colleges that offer exceptional technology support to students and educators. SAC was part of the large college category (7,500 students or more).
