SAC Engineering Technology Students Take
Top Honors in SkillsUSA  State Competition

(San Antonio, TX, April 23, 2009) – Five students from the San Antonio College  Engineering Technology Department  took top honors on three categories at the 37th annual SkillsUSA College/Post Secondary Division, Texas State Leadership Conference competition held March 26-28 in San Antonio.   

                  Ryan Gernsbacher took the gold medal and Robert Moreno got the silver in the Electronics Technology Category. In Electronics Applications Competition, Juan Alvarado took gold and Joseph Devine took silver. Dario Andreade, from the CADD Engineering Technology Program won the gold medal.    

                  Gernsbacher, Alvarado and Andrade will advance to the National SkillsUSA Championships set for June 21-26, 2009, in Kansas City.  There, more than 5,000 outstanding career and technical education students are expected to compete in 91 different trade, technical and leadership fields.
