SAN ANTONIO, TX (Oct. 15) – The entire San Antonio College Golf Team will be teeing up at nationals next month in Las Vegas.
The 8th annual National Intramural-Recreation Sports Association (NIRSA) National Championships is set for Nov. 6-8.
The SAC golf team consists of eight players: Rogelio Camarillo, David Cano, Lauren Douglas, Brad Jones, Luis Quintero, John Starr, George Zapata, and Joel Zulaica.
New players Jones and Zulaica won the Oct. 10 qualifier at Kingwood (TX) Country Club with a score of 68. Camarillo and Cano placed second with a score of 77.
The National Collegiate Golf Championship (NCGC) is a two-person scramble event. The NCGC will allow recreational golfers to compete for their university to see who will be the 2009 champion. The championship has three divisions: student, faculty/staff and alumni/community.
