2009 Hispanic Heritage Month Essay Contest, sponsored by the San Antonio College Hispanic Heritage Month Committee, Student Financial Services and the Department of English
Scholarships will be awarded for the top four essays.
A ceremony awarding the winning essay writers will be held 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 13, in the Koehler House.

San Antonio College students enrolled in at least 6 hours with a minimum 2.0 GPA.

HH Essay Guidelines
ADD’L Details:
The essay should analyze the causes or effects of various health issues (high rates of pregnancy, diabetes, obesity, etc.) among Latinos in San Antonio. The essay must be 750-800 words typed in 12-point type and double-spaced. Support the analysis with evidence from respected and established sources. Students may approach the topic from various angles: sociological, anthropological, medical or financial.
