Hispanic Heritage Month Kick Off
SAC staff member Henry Castillo recites  “El Grito de Doloroes!” during the opening celebration for Hispanic Heritage Month in  the Loftin Student Center Fiesta Room.  Hispanic Heritage Celebration Committee Chair   Richard Farias told the crowd gathered in the LSC  that theme this year’s  national   campaign is “Embracing the Fierce Urgency of Now.” Dr. Robert Zeigler and Dr. Robert Vela also spoke to the audience of students and faculty gathered in the Fiesta Room.   Entertainment by the band Bocastria followed.   The month-long celebration of Hispanic Heritage events includes music, films, speakers, demonstrations, poetry readings and art.
