Journalism, Friends of Journalism Welcome
100 Students to Fall Conference at SAC

SAN ANTONIO, TX (Oct. 1) –  More than 100 students representing 14 area high schools spent Saturday, Sept. 26,  at  San Antonio College at the fifth Charting Your Course: An Itinerary for High School Journalists and Their Advisers.

La Vernia High School attended for the first time, and students also traveled from Bandera for the daylong event.

The conference, sponsored by the journalism program of Media Communications and the alumni group, Friends of Journalism at San Antonio College, provided sessions designed to jump-start high school publications for the fall.

Tracks for editors, photographers, beginning and advanced reporters, designers and advisers brought to campus freelancers and professionals from the San Antonio Express-News and KSAT-12 television.
