SAN ANTONIO, TX (July 10, 2009) – The San Antonio College Women’s Center is still accepting applications for the 2009-2010 Mi CASA Community College Scholar Scholarship. The residency requirement has expanded to include eight more ZIP code regions.
 
Mi CASA (Career Advancement & Self-sufficiency Assistance) Program serves low-to-moderate income residents.
 
Twenty $1,250 scholarships ($625 Fall 2009, $625 Spring 2010) are available. This scholarship will remain open until all participants have been selected. Current or prospective students are eligible to apply.
 
Successful applicants must:
 
*  Reside in 78201, 78202, 78203, 78204, 78205, 78207, 78208, 78212, or 78215 ZIP code areas.
 
*  Enroll in San Antonio College and maintain enrollment in a minimum of six credit hours each semester.  
 
*  Submit a Free Application for Federal Student Aid Form (FAFSA)
 
*  Meet Alamo Colleges scholarship requirements.
 
*  Have a cumulative  2.5 GPA or higher.
 
* Participate in mentoring/outreach activities at the Seguir Adelante Community Center.
 
 The Seguir Adelante Community Center is located on the SAC campus at 703 Howard St.,  (corner of Evergreen & Howard)
