San Antonio College student Pedro A. Villegas took top prize in the student category at the recent 12th SXSW annual Web Awards in Austin.  The international competition recognizes new talent and new ideas.

Villegas competed against students from Washington, New York, Oklahoma, Iceland, and Canada.  His winning Web page is entitled, “Modernity Spirit of Experimentation.”  The site, a celebration of designers of glass, furniture, lighting, ceramics and accessories, can be viewed at: www.pedrovillegas.net/modernity/

A digital design major, Villegas was offered an interactive designer position by Ovos Media Consulting of Vienna, Austria. But he declined the job offer, choosing instead to continue his education in the States.
