Emily White to Give Lecture & Recital at SAC
 
Internationally renowned pianist Emily White will give a lecture and recital at San Antonio College on Thursday, April 11, at 7:30 p.m. in McAllister Auditorium. The event is free and open to the public.

She will perform J.S. Bach, “English Suite No. 6,” K. Seymanowski, “Four Studies,” and F. Liszt, “Hungarian Rhapsody No. 12.”

White has performed worldwide, including New York’s Carnegie Hall and in London, Geneva, Belgium, Italy, Eastern Europe, and throughout the United States and Canada. She has performed as a guest recitalist at the International Szymanowski Festival in Poland. She has given a recital for the American Ambassador to the Czech Republic and performed privately for British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher. Her master class appearances have included invitations to the Gheorghe Dima Music Academy in Cluj-Napoca, Romania, the Colchester Institute in England, Southern Methodist University, and the University of Texas at San Antonio.

She has won top prizes at the International Young Concert Artists Competition of Royal Tunbridge Wells, England, the International Mozart Competition in Salzburg, Austria, National Chopin Foundation Council of Greater New York, and the National Federation of Music Clubs Young Artist Auditions.

White has earned music degrees from the University of Maryland summa cum laude with High Honors in Music, The Juilliard School, the Royal Academy of Music, and the Manhattan School of Music. She is currently a faculty member of the Juilliard Evening Division and Chair of Piano at the Brooklyn College Preparatory Center for the Performing Arts.
