Students win Henry B. Gonzalez Public
Service Scholarships

| Five students were awarded the Henry B. Gonzalez Public Service Scholarship
during a Leadership in Public Service Conference at San Antonio College
on March 25. Scholarship recipients are: Sara Alarcon, Edison High School; Ivonne Puga, Fox Tech High School; Patricia Benitez, Fox Tech High School; Jacob Herrera, Lanier High School; and Jason Herrera, Lanier High School. Awards are $250 for full-time students (enrolled in 12 hours or more) and $150 for part-time students (enrolled in 9 hours or more). Recipients must plan to major in Public Administration at San Antonio College and donate 12-24 hours of voluntary community service. The Henry B. Gonzalez Public Service Scholarship was first created and awarded last August with funds raised by the Public Administration Club students to honor the late congressman “for his dedication and commitment to public service.” |
