San Antonio College Women’s Center to Host
“Latinas as Leaders,” A Hispanic Heritage Month Event

The Women’s Center at San Antonio College is sponsoring “Latinas As Leaders,” a panel discussion including Latinas from various professions in San Antonio. The event will be held from 9:30-10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 18, in the Visual Arts Technology Center. Everyone is invited.

Rosie Castro, a political activist, will address issues concerning Latinas in public policy. Diana Fuentes, Regional Editor of the San Antonio Express-News, will discuss Latinas in the media, and Sylvia DeLeon, SAC Associate Professor in Public Administration, will discuss Latinas in education.

Questions for the discussion include: Are Latina leaders different from other leaders? What barriers have they encountered? What strategies for success do these women have to share?
