SAC Offers Overcoming Math Fear &
Failure Workshops in June

| San Antonio College’s Basic Skills Enrichment Program will again
offer workshops on Overcoming Math Fear and Failure, on Tuesdays and Thursdays,
6:30-8:30 p.m. for four sessions: June 18, 20, 25 and 27. The non-credit
workshops are intended for people who wish to return to college but are
afraid to because of their fear of math, according to Coordinator Betty
Lee Birdsall. Workshop topics will include: Why Learning Math is Different from Learning Other Subjects, What the Differences are Between High School and College Math, How to Determine Your Learning Style, Seven Steps to Math Note-Taking, How to Read a Math Textbook, and How to Solve Word Problems. The workshop costs $30, which includes a workbook. The class size is limited, so people are encouraged to register now.
