SAC Women’s Center Sponsors Conference
For Women Returning to School
 
The San Antonio College Women’s Center will sponsor the Women Empowered (WE) Conference, a free, one-day event for women interested in returning to school at a college of the Alamo Community College District (San Antonio College, Palo Alto College, St. Philip’s College, and Northwest Vista College) from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Tuesday, May 21, 2002. The conference will be held at McCreless Auditorium (near Belknap and W. Dewey Streets).

The WE Conference will feature workshops that include “Managing Your Roles,” “Overcoming Your Fears,” “Breaking The Chains That Bind You,” and “Discovering Yourself.” Keynote speakers are Dr. Ana ‘Cha’ Guzman, Palo Alto College President, and Rosie Castro, community activist.

The conference also is sponsored by the SAC WINS (Women Investing in New Successes) Leadership Program and the Mayor’s Commission on the Status of Women.
