SAC's K-48 TV Station Is Back on the Air

San Antonio College's low-power TV station K480S (UHF channel 48) has resumed operations this week, broadcasting 7:45 a.m.-6 p.m., Monday-Friday, according to Radio-TV-Film Department Chairperson Terry Tackitt.

"This means students have another alternative to telecourses broadcast on cable TV," explained Tackitt, who said the telecourses are being aired simultaneously with other stations (KLRN-TV non-cable channel 9 and Time Warner cable stations 10, 19, and 3). He said student programming will be added to the schedule later.

San Antonio College telecourses are available for the following subjects: Biology, Business, English, Government, History, Psychology, Sociology, Spanish, and Student Development.

The TV station first began broadcasting in January 1995 and went off the air earlier this year while KSAT-TV used the frequency for digital testing, as mandated by the Federal Communications Commission.

For more information, contact Tackitt at 733-2799.
