Observes October
Domestic Violence Awareness Month |
| The Women’s Center at San Antonio College will sponsoring activities
during October in observance of Domestic Violence Awareness Month. All activities
are free and open to the public. For more information, contact the Women’s Center at 733-2299. Throughout the Month of October The SAC Women’s Center is sponsoring a “Wish List” drive for items needed by the women and children of the Battered Women’s Shelter. Items such as diapers, shampoo, and baby bottles may be brought to the Women’s Center in MLC 177B. For a list of more items needed, visit http://www.accd.edu/sac/students/wc/Wishlist.htm Saturday, Oct. 5 Domestic Violence Awareness Month Event “Creating Safe Families” sponsored by the PEACE initiative “Hands Are For Helping And Not Hurting” children’s activity and information table 11 a.m.-2 p.m., Milam Park (Across from Santa Rosa Hospital). Thursday, Oct. 24 Domestic Violence Awareness Month Event “Embracing Your Power” presentation by attorney Crista Marichalar Topics include restraining orders, protective orders, child support, and personal safety. 9:30-10:30 a.m., Moody Learning Center Room 177. |
