In Edith Fox King Lecture Series

Pulitzer Prize winner Don Bartletti, a photojournalist for the Los Angeles Times Orange County Edition, will give a lecture and a slide presentation titled "Bound to El Norte" on Monday, Nov. 17, 10 a.m., in the Visual Arts & Technology Center (Courtland Place and Lewis St.), Room 120. This will be the 266th Annual Edith Fox King Journalism Lecture and is free and open to the public.

Bartletti won the 2003 Pulitzer Prize for Feature Photography for his portrayal of how undocumented Central American youth, often facing dangers, travel north to the United States. He worked with Sonia Nazario on a six-part series titled "Enrique's Journey."

Nazario won the Pulitzer Prize for Feature Writing for her story of a Honduran boy's search for his mother who had migrated to the United States.

Bartletti has received more than 40 career awards, including Pictures of the Year, World Press Photo, Inter-American Press Association, Ruben Salazar Award, among many others.

The campus chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists, the Department of Journalism-Photography, and Internationalizing the Curriculum are sponsors of this event. For more information, contact Chet Hunt at 733-2870
