SAC to Host "Grade The Media"
Forum on April 17

| The general public and San Antonio College faculty, students, and staff
are invited to attend a "Grade The Media" forum of media professionals
from local TV stations and the San Antonio Express-News, on Thursday, April
17, 7 - 9 p.m. in the Loftin Student Center's Fiesta Room at San Antonio
College. The panel of media representatives, moderated by Dr. Fred Blevens from Southwest Texas State University, will include KABB Executive Producer Joe Gomez, WOAI's Brian Collister, a member of the San Antonio Express-News editorial board, and others. They will explain why some stories are covered and others are not, and they will take questions from the audience. "This will provide an opportunity for the public to voice their opinions, concerns, dislikes, likes and questions to a panel of media professionals," said Laura Jesse, President of the Society of Professional Journalists Chapter at Southwest Texas State University. The event is sponsored by the student chapters of the Society of Professional Journalists at Southwest Texas State University and at San Antonio College.
