SAC Home School Program Begins October

| Beginning October 2, the San Antonio College Continuing Education
Training Network will expand its College for Kids summer program to offer
classes during the school year designed for children who are home schooled
by their parents. Classes will meet 12:30 p.m. - 5 p.m., October 2 - November 20 (Tuesdays and Thursdays) and January 13 - April 20 (Tuesdays). Classes will be offered in two tiers, Elementary and Middle School, with material designed for each group's maturity and learning styles. Students may take up to three classes at a cost of $70 per class. Classes will include Astronomy and introductory classes in Mandarin Chinese, Music Theory, Spanish, Computer Graphic Design, Computer Applications, Sign Language, Russian, French, Radio Production & Script Writing (Middle School level only). The Texas Home School Coalition estimates there are 75,000-100,000 home educating families in Texas, or 112,000-500,000 home schooled children. For more information, call 733-2666. |
