Saunders & Howard Selected for
Leaders Program

| San Antonio College faculty Dr. Nancy H. Saunders, Chairperson of the
Department of Sociology, Social Work and Gerontology, and Dr. Jessica Howard,
Chairperson of the Department of Music and Humanities, have been chosen
to participate in the National Institute of Leadership Development's LEADERS
Program for administrators and faculty in higher education. The yearlong program is designed to enhance the skills required by participants to assume major decision-making roles in their institutions. They will receive training in supervisory and human relations skills, planning and budgeting, and organizational transformation. In addition, they will have the opportunity to discuss higher education issues with national leaders. Dr. Margaret Hyde, Dean of Arts and Sciences at San Antonio College, will be their mentor as Drs. Saunders and Howard work on projects to aid the college and foster their individual professional growth. LEADERS participants are chosen for their professional abilities, interest in advancing higher education, and the quality of their proposed projects.
