SAC to Hold Mental Health Forum

| A Mental Health Forum will be held at San Antonio College on Wednesday,
November 20, 9 a.m.-2 p.m. in the Moody Learning Center, Room 331. Sponsored
by the Beta Nu chapter of Phi Theta Kappa honors society, the forum will
feature presentations on a variety of mental health issues. The schedule of events follows: 9-9:50 a.m. Suicide Prevention/Intervention - The United Way of San Antonio and Bexar County 10-10:50 a.m. Coping Strategies - The Methodist Specialty and Transplant Hospital, Elaine Straton 11-11:50 a.m. Living with Schizophrenia - The National Alliance for the Mentally Ill, Frances Wise and the members of Telecare 12-12:50 p.m. What it's like to live with a mental illness and still be a college student - Real life stories from SAC students 1-1:50 p.m. Palmer Drug Abuse Program, Phil Stratton For more information, contact Jeff Hunt at 733-2697 or jehunt@accd.edu. |
